🚨 NAPLAN grading tool 🚨 Today, we’re releasing a pre-trained model to grade and provide feedback on narrative NAPLAN writing (persuasive coming this week) with 95%+ accuracy, and it’s freely available for anyone to use. We hope this can help lighten the load of teachers preparing their students, and enable more frequent and in-depth feedback for students’ development. Please note this is a public beta, and only trained on the 20 NAPLAN samples publicly available, so if you had additional samples to share, or general feedback, we’d love to hear from you! Edexia (YC W25) is an AI teaching assistant that grades papers. It learns the style of each individual teacher, so it can grade just like they do, saving up to 100% of grading time. Edexia can grade assignments from any curriculum, year level, subject, or format. Learning like a teacher, it visually breaks down its understanding of the rubric, and updates this as a teacher corrects its grading — always keeping them in control. Daniel Gibbon and I are going to 🟧 Y Combinator! We're ecstatic to be bringing Edexia (YC W25), the AI assessment co-pilot for teachers, to the US. We set out on a mission to positively impact the education system. 🎓 After a year of exploratory research and over 200 conversations with teachers, we realized that assessments were the best place to start. Grading and feedback can be one of the most time-consuming, problematic, yet important parts of an educator's profession. So we began to learn and iterate. 🛠️ We launched in August and have since worked with 12 schools in Queensland. We can't wait to collaborate with more schools and will continue to do everything we can to save them time ⏳.
